GVSU's Griva Claims GLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week Honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its sixth women's tennis weekly awards for the 2019 season. Grand Valley State sophomore Vera Griva earned GLIAC Player of the Week honors after an impressive weekend against conference opponents. 


PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Vera Griva - Grand Valley St.

GVSU sophomore Vera Griva recorded two singles wins (6-2, 7-5; 2-6, 6-3, 7-5) and two doubles wins (7-5; 6-3) in the Lakers’ weekend sweep of Michigan Tech and Lake Superior State.  Griva holds an overall singles record of nine wins and two losses, accounting for the most Laker singles wins on the season.  Named the 2018 GLIAC Freshman of the Year, this is Griva’s second career athlete of the week accolade and first one of the season.
