WSU's Radu Earns GLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week Honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its seventh women's tennis weekly award heading into this weekend's 2019 GLIAC Women's Tennis Tournament. Wayne State junior Teodora Radu earned GLIAC Player of the Week honors after an impressive weekend against conference opponents. 


PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Teodora Radu  - Wayne State

Wayne State junior Teodora Radu (Ramnicu Valcea, Romania) powered the Warriors to back-to-back victories over the weekend by winning all four of her matches.  In the process, Wayne State secured the GLIAC regular-season title. On Saturday versus Grand Valley State (5-2), Radu and partner Khadija Da-Silva clinched the doubles point for WSU at the second flight with a 6-2 win.  Radu earned a super-tiebreaker win at No. 4 singles (6-2, 4-6, 10-5). On Sunday versus Ferris State (7-0), Radu and Da-Silva won their No. 2 doubles match 6-3.  Radu then notched a victory at No. 4 singles (7-5, 6-3).
