Tiffin's Huffman named Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week

TIFFIN, Ohio -- It's a clean sweep for Jenna Huffman this week, being named both GLIAC Player of the Week and Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week. Jenna is the first player in program history to win the Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week award.

Jenna put on quite a display this past week, pounding 45 kills in 13 sets played, aiding the Dragons in their two GLIAC wins last weekend. Jenna averaged 3.46 kills per set, and played her best when the moments mattered most. Against Hillsdale, Huffman collected 16 kills, 11 digs, and totaled five blocks. Jenna committed only one attack error, hitting at a .484 clip. 

In her match against Northwood on Saturday morning, Huffman helped the Dragons overcome a 2-0 set deficit. Jenna set a new career high in kills with 22, which is the most of any player this season. Huffman did more than just pile up kills, she added 11 digs, and totaled nine blocks. Her efficiency from the match against Hillsdale carried over to the Northwood contest, hitting .413 against the Timberwolves.

This season, Jenna leads the Dragons with 251 kills, accounting for 22% of Tiffin's total kills. Huffman leads the GLIAC in blocks per set, averaging 1.23. Jenna is 3rd in the GLIAC in hitting percentage, and 13th in total kills. Nationally, Jenna is 8th in the nation in total blocks, 15th in blocks per set, and 33rd in hitting percentage.
