Northern Michigan's Whitehead, Davenport's Dill Earn GLIAC Volleyball Honors

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following the second weekend of the 2017 volleyball season. Northern Michigan senior right side Madison Whitehead earned GLIAC Volleyball North Division honors, while Davenport senior outside hitter Krissy Dill captured South Division accolades.


NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Madison Whitehead, Northern Michigan

Northern Michigan senior right side Madison Whitehead led the Wildcats to a 3-1 record, with three sweeps, this weekend at Michigan Tech's Keweenaw Classic. Whitehead led the team with 43 kills and was second on the team with 16 total blocks. Against Bemidji St., she posted seven blocks. For the four matches, she achieved double-figure kills each match, with a high of 12 against St. Cloud. 


SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Krissy Dill, Davenport

Davenport senior outside hitter Krissy Dill started off the weekend on Friday by setting the school record with 27 kills in a five-setter against Clarion in which he hit .472 and added 15 digs. She led the team with 75 kills and a .267 attack percentage at the Indy Invitational. Dill also had double digit digs in those four matches for a total of 56.
