Ferris State Jumps to No. 11 in Latest AVCA Volleyball Rankings

AVCA -- Ferris State is the lone Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) program ranked inside this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll. Ferris State (7-3) improved to No. 11 up two spots from last week as the Bulldogs went 2-0 on the opening weekend of conference matches sweeping both Parkside and Purdue Northwest. FSU heads to Northwood Tuesday (Sept. 11) for a travel partner contest.

Northern Michigan (9-1) and Michigan Tech (8-2) are both outside the Top 25 rankings in the other receiving votes category. NMU dropped their first match of the season on the road at Saginaw Valley over the weekend to fall outside the Top 25 as the Wildcats started GLIAC play 1-1. Tech earned a pair of sweeps on the road over SVSU & Lake Superior State. Both Northern and Tech will battle in Marquette on Tuesday night before welcoming Ferris State and Northwood this upcoming weekend.
