WOMEN'S RESULTS -- The Grand Valley State Lakers captured the 2016 NCAA Women's Cross Country National Championships on Saturday in St. Leo, Florida with a 116 point total outdistancing Adams State by 23 points for the title. Grand Valley State's Kendra Foley earned the individual title winning the race by nearly 25 seconds with a time of 20:01.8. Foley also won the 2014 national title, while finishing runner-up last season. GVSU freshman Stacey Metzger finished 15th for the Lakers, while Hillsdale's Hannah McIntyre followed one spot behind in 16th. Northern Michigan finished 14th in the team standings with Hillsdale placing 17th.

MEN'S RESULTS -- The Grand Valley State Lakers earned a runner-up finish with a score of 79 points at the 2016 NCAA Men's Cross Country National Championships on Saturday in St. Leo, Florida. The Lakers were paced by Zach Panning's fifth-place showing, while Chris May finished 10th. Saginaw Valley State University posted a 10th place finish guided by Tom Goforth in 30th position. The Hillsdale Chargers compiled a 14th place showing led by Anthony Wondaal's 21st place finish. Both individuals qualifying for the national meet performed quite well at NCAAs with Tiffin senior James Ngandu placing third after he completed the course in 29:52.7, while Ashland's Nick Hall earned a 16th place finish with a time of 30:47.1.
