WSU's Truman and Feist Sweep GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week Accolades

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following week four of the 2019 cross country season. Wayne State sophomore Zak Truman captured GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors on the men's side, while Wayne State St. senior Allie Ludge garnered the women's award following their performances at the Ohio State Buckeye Preview. 


MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Zac Truman -Wayne State 

Wayne State sophomore Zac Truman (Utica, Mich. / Eisenhower) led the men's squad to a 19th-place finish (out of 41 teams) in the 18th Annual Louisville Classic gold 8K race on Saturday.  Competing against nationally ranked teams from all divisions, the Warrior finished 59th (out of 373 runners) with a time of 24:42.5.  Truman is a co-captain on this year's squad.


WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Jacqueline Feist - Wayne State 

Wayne State graduate student Jackie Feist (Beverly Hills, Mich. / Birmingham Groves) led the women's team to a 21st-place finish (out of 39 teams) in the 18th Annual Louisville Classic gold 5K race on Saturday.  Competing against nationally ranked teams from all divisions, Feist placed 25th (out of 343 runners) with a time of 17:39.0.
