CLEVELAND - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) placed 10 institutions in the Top 100 of the winter 2013-14 D-II Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings.

Eight-time champion Grand Valley State University takes the lead in the Division II Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings thanks to a fourth place finish in women's indoor track and field and a sixth place finish in men's indoor track and field. The Lakers currently have 718 total points. GVSU also placed tenth in both men's and women's swimming and diving during the winter season.
Ashland University currently is in 4th place with 390.50 total points. The Eagles placed third in men's indoor track and field and fifth place in women's indoor track and field, 14th place in men's wrestling, while also finishing in 18th and 20th place in men's and women's swimming and diving, repsectively.
University of Findlay sits in 33rd place with 213.50 points. The Oilers finished eigth in men's indoor track and field, and 13th in men's wrestling.
Hillsdale College came in 38th place with a 187.00 points in the standings coming in 19th in men's indoor track and field.
Tiffin University sits at number 40, with 182.50 points. The Dragons finished fifth in men's indoor track and field.
Coming in at 42 is Wayne State University with 175.00 points. The Warriors finished second and third respectively in women's and men's swimming and diving.
Ferris State University came in 44th place with 173.00 points in the standings.
Four other GLIAC institution finished in the top 100 in the final fall standings, Lake Erie College (60th), Northern Michigan University (78th), Saginaw Valley State University (85th), and Ohio Dominican University (91st) also rank in the top 100 for the GLIAC.
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports -- seven women’s and seven men’s.
The final Division II winter standings will be released Thursday, April 3.
