GLIAC -- With the conclusion of the regular season having drawn to a close on Saturday evening, brackets have been finalized for the 2022 GLIAC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments.

Quarterfinal matchups are scheduled for Wednesday (March 2) on the campus sites of the higher seed. The semifinals (Saturday, March 5) and final (Sunday, March 6) will be hosted by the highest seed remaining following the quarterfinal round.

Grand Valley State, ranked No. 2 in the nation, will serve as the No. 1 seed for the women's tournament following a dominant regular season in which the Lakers suffered just one loss. The Lakers will host No. 8 seed Northern Michigan on Wednesday.

Ferris State is the No. 2 seed and will play seventh-seeded Saginaw Valley State, the lone team to defeat GVSU this season.

Third-seeded Wayne State and the conference's top rebounder, Sam Cherney, will host No. 6 Parkside, which is led by GLIAC Preseason Player of the Year and the GLIAC's leading scorer, Alyssa Nelson.

No. 5 Northwood will travel to the UP to meet No. 4 Michigan Tech. The Timberwolves and the Huskies split their regular season meetings with each team winning on the road.

Ferris State is the No. 1 seed for the men's tournament and will host eighth-seeded Davenport in the first round. The Bulldogs are the GLIAC's top offensive unit, averaging 87.3 points per game.

Michigan Tech, the No. 2 seed and co-regular season GLIAC champions, will welcome No. 7 Parkside to Houghton in a matchup that features two of the conference's top scorers in the Huskies' Owen White and the Rangers' Tray Croft.

The 3-6 matchup will be a battle for the UP as Northern Michigan is at home versus Lake Superior State. The Wildcats are riding a seven-game winning streak into the tournament but fell to the Lakers in Marquette in early December.

Fourth-seeded Saginaw Valley State meets No. 5 Grand Valley State in a rematch of the regular season finale, won by the Cardinals, 66-64, in University Center.
