DETROIT -- The 13th-ranked Wayne State University baseball program (23-7 overall, 7-4 GLIAC) dropped both ends of a doubleheader on Saturday against Purdue Northwest (12-14 overall, 8-3 GLIAC) on Saturday. It is the first time since early March that WSU has lost two straight games.
GAME ONE (L, 2-4)
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride took a 1-0 lead on three hits and a walk in the top of third inning. The visitor's advantage grew to 4-0 after PNW scored three runs on three hits and two walks in the top of the fifth inning.
Hunter DeLanoy (Hartland, Mich.) trimmed the deficit in half with a two-run single into right field in the bottom of the fifth inning. That would be as close as the Green & Gold would come as Purdue Northwest captured the 4-2 victory.

ON THE MOUND

Brendan Wetmore (Westland, Mich. / John Glenn) did not allow a run in his 2/3 of an inning before
Brennan Cox (Taylor, Mich. / Riverview Gabriel Richard) worked a perfect 2/3 of an inning.
GAME TWO (L, 1-4)
