Panthers hold off Cardinals in GLIAC Semis

RACINE, Wis. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team was unable to break through on the scoreboard against Davenport University in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals on Friday in Pritchard Park in Racine, Wis.

After a scoreless first half, the Panthers took the lead early in the second and held on for the 1-0 win.

The loss closes the season for the Cardinals at 10-5-5 overall.

Davenport found the game's lone goal in the 49th minute when Matt Whalen found Daire O'Riordan.

SVSU was outshot 20-9, while Callum Harley made six saves in net for the Cardinals. Elliot Nottoli, Robbie Bruce, Danny Barlow, and Benjamin Adamson each registered two shots.
