LSSU Volleyball Travels to Marquette for Northern Michigan Open

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State volleyball program is set to open up the 2022 season when they travel to Marquette, Michigan for the Northern Michigan Open from Thursday, Aug. 25 through Saturday, Aug. 27.

The Lakers will get started with their opening match of the 2022 season against the Upper Iowa Peacocks at 4:30 p.m., and they will face the Central Oklahoma Bronchos on the second day of the event with an 11 a.m. scheduled start time. Upper Iowa and Central Oklahoma finished the previous season with respective win totals of 20 and 19.

The last day of the NMU Open, Saturday, Aug. 27, will see LSSU will play two matches. At 9 a.m. against the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles and at 3 p.m. against the Bemidji State Beavers with both Saturday opponents having combined for three wins in the 2021 season.

After the NMU Open, the Lakers will be returning to action when they travel to Springfield, Mo. For the Drury/ Southwest Baptist Invitational, happening on Friday, Sept. 2.
