Ferris State Keeps Momentum Going With Big Second Half In League Victory

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad used a big second half to stay unbeaten in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), scoring a 91-68 home win over Parkside on Saturday (Dec. 4) at Big Rapids High School.

Senior guard Walt Kelser tallied 19 points with sophomore Ben Davidson contributing 15 points in the triumph. The Bulldogs also got 13 points from senior Dorian Aluyi to go with 12 by Vejas Grazulis and 11 from Lee Higgins in a balanced effort.

FSU shot 59% from the floor and hit nine-of-15 (60%) from long range while making 10-of-11 (90.9%) free throws.

The Bulldogs outrebounded the Rangers 35-28 for the afternoon and finished with six steals and five blocked shots in the contest.

Aluyi and Jimmy Scholler both paced FSU on the glass with nine rebounds while Scholler also had nine assists in the win.

Parkside finished shooting 44.1% for the game and went eight-of-28 (28.6%) from three-point range while making eight-of-14 (57.1%) free throws.

The Rangers were led by Rasheed Bello, who netted 16 points. Both Colin O'Rourke and Vinson Sigmon added 12 points each.

The Bulldogs improved to 7-1 overall this season and 2-0 in the GLIAC with the win.

Ferris State will travel to Michigan's Upper Peninsula next weekend and face Northern Michigan on Thursday, Dec. 9, in Marquette with tipoff set for 7:45 p.m. (ET).
