Rogers Scores Twice As Bulldogs Top Timberwolves To Win Sixth Straight Contest

Midland, Mich. - The nationally #16 ranked Ferris State University women's soccer team ran their win streak to six games with a 2-1 victory over the Northwood Timberwolves in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on Friday (Sept. 24).
 
Ferris State senior midfielder Bri Rogers scored both Bulldog goals to run her goal-scoring streak to three games (five total goals) for the win.
 
The Bulldogs broke the scoreless tie at 32:39 of the match when senior Grace VerHage's shot rang off the left goal post. Rogers pushed in the rebound for her fourth goal of the campaign, while VerHage earned her team-leading fourth assist and ran her point-scoring streak to four games (13 points). 

In the second half, Rogers ripped in the eventual game-winner at 59:48 on a penalty kick for a 2-0 Bulldog lead and her fifth goal of the season.

The Timberwolves pressed hard and cut the Bulldog lead in half at 83:22 when Isabel Anderson scored unassisted for what would become the 2-1 final. It is just the third goal the Bulldogs have allowed all season (seven games).
 
Ferris State held a 13-9 advantage in shots for the contest. In goal, freshman goalkeeper Darya Mossallaei made two saves in the win, while Northwood's Jane Stinson made six in the loss.

With the win, Ferris State is 3-0-0 in league action and is off until their Friday, Oct. 1 date with the Davenport Panthers which will be the Bulldogs' first home action in a month. Kickoff is set for 4:00 pm ET at the Bulldog Soccer Field.
