HOW IT HAPPENED
The Huskies started fast and a three-pointer from Owen White put the home team up 7-2 at the 18:23 mark of the first half.  Brailen Neely (Detroit, Mich. / Western International) found his way to the rim for two points, trimming WSU's deficit to three 9-6, with 16:31 left in the opening stanza.  Trent Bell gave MTU a 15-6 advantage at the arrival of the game's first media timeout.  A three-point play from Neely made it 22-11 Huskies with 11:45 to play before halftime.  The home lead grew to 32-11 at the 6:52 mark after Tech's seventh made triple of the afternoon.  The run reached 17-0 until a basket by Cortez Jackson (Harper Woods, Mich. / St. Clair Shores Lake Shore) made it 39-13 with 3:27 left before the break.  MTU led 48-16 at halftime following a jumper to beat the buzzer from Neely.

The second half was more of the same as the Huskies continued to play well and led 56-21 after an Adam Hobson three-pointer at the 15:44 mark.  Two free throws from Antonio Marshall (Detroit, Mich. / Martin Luther King) with 14:32 to play made it 56-25.  A layup from Jackson at the 10:20 mark put the score at 60-34. Neely connected from beyond the arc to trim the home lead to 62-39 with 6:25 remaining.  The final score would be 82-57.
