Boutarfa Scores a Brace to Push Dragons Past Northwood

The Tiffin University men's soccer team beat Northwood 3-1 for their first win of the 2021 campaign. 

Tiffin started the game strong and was awarded a penalty in the 16th minute of the game that was scored by Mounir Boutarfa for his first goal of the season to lead 1-0.

Four minutes later the Dragons drew another penalty kick but it was saved by the Northwood keeper to keep the game at 1-0.

The Dragons held their lead until the 43rd minute when the Timberwolves were awarded a penalty and converted to tie the game at 1-1.

The Dragons outshot the Timberwolves 5-3 in the first half and had more corner kicks 4-1. 

Tiffin didn't take long to retake the lead in the second half as Mounir Boutarfa scored his second goal of the game in the 53rd minute assisted by Pablo Leigh Valencia.

The Dragons weren't done yet, as Carlos Castrejon scored a looping shot into the top left corner of the net in the 56th minute off a throw-in from Davide Frezzi to lead 3-1. 

Tiffin outplayed the Timberwolves as they outshot them 17-5, with nine shots on target compared to Northwood's two, and registered more corner kicks 6-1.

Declan Lehman got the win in goal, making 2 saves over 90 minutes.
