Tiffin University traveled to Youngstown State for an exhibition game, falling 84-62 to the Penguins in a game that was decided in the second quarter.
After a close first quarter, the Dragons and Penquins were tied 30-30 midway through the second quarter. But the Penguins exploded inside, taking control and scoring the final 17 points of the half unanswered to take a 47-30 lead into the intermission. Overall YSU outscored TU 29-13 in the second 10 minutes.
TU could not close the gap after halftime, as they managed to shoot just 31 percent while YSU scorched the nets at a 51 percent clip. The Penguins also held a huge 54-24 advantage in points in the paint.
Bre Nauman led the team with 11 points and 8 rebounds, while Allie Miller and Madison Jackson had 10 points each. Ali Schirmer added 9 points, while Deidre McKay had 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Khala Downing also had 7 points and 6 rebounds.
