ST. PAUL, Minn. - This weekend, Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse (7-7, 4-6 GLIAC) concludes the regular season with a pair of home games against McKendree (6-9, 5-5 GLIAC) on Friday at 6 p.m. and #12 Indianapolis (12-3, 8-2 GLIAC) on Sunday at noon. The games will be the first of the year outdoors at Sea Foam Stadium, with Friday being senior night to honor Kallie LaValle, the first senior for the program.

ONLINE COVERAGE
Friday's game will be streamed live on Concordia's GameCentral portal courtesy Stretch Internet. The high definition, one camera production through the athletic department will feature play-by-play by Dan Flanagan, Voice of the Golden Bears since 2008. He'll be flanked by Alex Ross, providing insight and analysis as a second year color commentator. Ross is the head coach at Apple Valley High School since 2009 and also has experience in broadcasting at the MSHSL State Tournament level. She was the 2014 Minnesota State Girls Lacrosse Coach of the Year for the Eagles.

Both games are available to follow along on live stats, either through Concordia's traditional live stats page or through the GLIAC live stats (Friday | Sunday), which feature a mobile-friendly interface.

PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS
The first three of four spots in the GLIAC Tournament have been clinched by Grand Valley State (10-1), Indianapolis (8-2) and Tiffin (7-4) with McKendree (5-5) and Concordia (4-6) looking to secure the final spot. A win for Concordia puts the teams tied in the standings, but the tie-breaker appears to be in McKendree's favor with a quality of opponent win over third seed Tiffin, meaning the Golden Bears would need to sweep the weekend and McKendree would have to lose on Sunday at Northern Michigan (1-9) for CSP to move into the final spot. (tie-breaker is unofficial until announced by the league office in the postseason bracket)

SENIOR NIGHT FOR KALLIE LaVALLE
This Friday night, Concordia will honor senior Kallie LaValle, an exercise science major from Burnsville, Minnesota. The daughter of Pam and Pat LaValle, Kallie transferred to Concordia after two years as a GLIAC Regular Season and Tournament Champion with Grand Valley State where she was a GLIAC All-Academic Team selection as a sophomore. With Concordia, LaValle was instrumental during the inaugural year and again this year as the only player in the program with Division II experience, and at a high level in the GVSU program. In two seasons with CSP, she's the only player to start all 30 games, ranks second in assists (30) and draw controls (62), fourth in points (54), shot attempts (64), shots on goal (49), ground balls (46) and caused turnovers (31). Her 49 draw controls is currently a single season record and she's tied for the season record in assists with 17, both during her junior season.

On the year, she is second on the team with 13 assists and has nine goals (22 points). She also added 14 ground balls, 13 draw controls and nine caused turnovers.

HENTGES CONTINUES BIG SOPHOMORE SEASON
After topping the 100-point milestone last Monday, sophomore Maddie Hentges added two more three-point performances over the weekend with two goals and an assist on Friday at #24 Tiffin and a hat trick on Sunday at #13 Grand Valley State, the sixth hat trick of the year. She's now racked up a season record 57 points, topping her mark of 53 last year (110 total), she's tied Kallie LaValle's single season assist record (17) and her 40 goal season is three shy of Kailey Heinl's 2017 team record of 43. Earlier this year, she netted the first triple hat trick in club history and also set the single game point record (10) in a win over Davenport.

She ranks 10th in the GLIAC in points and assists and 11th in goals and fourth on the team with 22 ground balls.

HEINL PUTTING UP ANOTHER BIG SCORING SEASON
Sophomore Kailey Heinl was the team's most prolific scorer in year one in 2017 with a current program record 43 goals. She's at it again in 2018, ranking second on the team with 30 goals while adding seven assists. Her strong midfield presence has been key to her second season, though, leading the team with 37 draw controls and tied with freshman defender Sara Stickler with 18 caused turnovers. She's also third on the squad with 27 ground balls. She's produced six hat tricks on the season.

In two seasons, she's the career leader in draw controls (77), second in points (84), goals (73), shots on goal (124), ground balls (54) and caused turnovers (35).

LOTTSFELDT POSTING BIG SAVES NUMBERS IN GOALIE COMMITTEE
Sophomore Katie Lottsfeldt earned the program's first-ever GLIAC Player of the Week honor when she put up 14 and 11 saves in road losses to McKendree and Indianapolis while allowing just five goals in a 23-12 win over Northern Michigan. She continues to protect the net, making 12 saves at #13 Grand Valley State most recently on Sunday and has 96 on the season to rank sixth in the GLIAC despite splitting time nearly evenly with freshman Claire Hagen. Lottsfeldt's 42.9 save percentage ranks fifth in the league and third among goalies with at least 350 minutes played. She also ranks second in the GLIAC with 48 ground balls, and as an active goalie not afraid to disrupt the offense, she has nine caused turnovers. Her save percentage is a strong step forward in year two, up from 39.0 during a quality freshman season in which she played all but 20 minutes in net and compiled an 8-8 record.

BOYCE AND KORINEK STRONG SCORING OPTIONS
Sophomore Alina Boyce and freshman Raelyn Korinek have been strong scoring options for the Bears this year, tied with 31 points with Korinek netting 28 goals with Boyce adding 20 despite missing three games. In a strong freshman season, Korinek is also second on the team with 26 draw controls along with 14 ground balls. Boyce is a volume shooter, firing 60 shots in 11 games but also ranks third on the team with 11 assists despite the missed time. She's attempted a team-high 18 free position shots. She's the current program record holder for total shot attempts (171) and free position goals (14) and is third in points (72), goals (52) and assists (20).

Korinek has six hat tricks on the year while Boyce has four. Boyce's eight point game at Northern Michigan earlier in the month is the second most points in a game in team history, coming on six goals and two assists in a 23-12 win.

LAST MEETING VS McKENDREE: MCK 11, CSP 10
After falling 19-2 at McKendree during the inaugural season and the second road game for the young team, the Bears nearly flipped that around in year two, leading 9-6 with just under 22 minutes to play before McKendree went on a 5-0 run to take an 11-9 lead with 12:35 remaining. A goal by redshirt freshman Katie Moynihan cut it to 11-10 at the 22:31 mark, but the Bears and McKendree played scoreless lacrosse for the final seven and a half minutes. Moynihan led the Bears with a hat trick while Alina Boyce and Maddie Hentges each added three points (1g, 2a). Katie Lottsfeldt made seven saves in each half for a 14 save performance.

LAST MEETING VS UINDY: UINDY 22, CSP 6
After ending 2017 with a 17-6 loss at home to UIndy in CSP's first-ever outdoor game at Sea Foam Stadium, the Greyhounds defeated Concordia 22-6 this year in the Bears' first trip to Indiana's capital city. Concordia did its best to keep the margin within reach in the early going, as Maddie Hentges tied the game at one in the fourth minute and Sheala Osborne cut the lead to 4-2 in the eighth. Osborne scored her second in the 21st minute to make it a 7-4 margin but UIndy scored the final five goals of the first half and scored the first goal of the second half in a 6-0 run to take a 13-4 lead. Katie Moynihan had a big weekend, scoring two goals for a five goal weekend to go with her hat trick at McKendree, while Hentges also scored a pair in the game. Osborne had three points (2g, 1a) to lead the CSP offense. Katie Lottsfeldt made 11 first half saves in net for CSP.
