ALLENDALE, Mich. – Grand Valley State women's tennis concludes a stretch of four consecutive home games with an 8-1 win over GLIAC opponent Hillsdale at the GVSU Tennis Courts. With the win, GVSU pulls to 6-0 and remains at the top of the conference standings, while the Chargers drop to 3-2 with the loss.
The Lakers swept through doubles play with great performances from its three doubles teams.

Aimee Moccia won 8-4 as the No. 1 pairing,

Alexa Sweeney won the No. 2 match 9-8 after winning the 7-3 tiebreaker, and
Abby Perkins/
Livia Christman won 9-7 in the No. 3 match.
Grand Valley State locked up their sixth straight win by going 5-1 in singles competition. Perkins won the No. 1 match after her opponent retired due to injury in the second set, while Sweeney won from the No. 2 spot (6-0, 6-4), Moccia won a difficult No. 3 match (7-6 [7-2], 6-2), Sumner won the No. 5 match (6-2, 6-2), and
Samantha Schrepferman won 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 6 match.
Next on the schedule for Grand Valley State is the ITA Midwest Regional Tournament. The tournament, hosted by the University of Indianapolis, will go from September 25 to September 27. Following that, the Lakers split the squad for a double-header on October 3 when the host Tiffin at 10 am and face NAIA-foe Davenport at 3 pm.
