The Malone University volleyball team wrapped up its trip to the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover Tournament in Aurora, Illinois on Saturday afternoon with a three-set loss to Maryville (MO) University.

The Saints, seeded 16th among the contingent of GLVC schools at the event, captured the first two sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-19 before completing the sweep of the 11th-seeded Pioneers with a 25-10 triumph in third frame.

Malone slipped to 9-12 overall following the match while Maryville improved to 8-18. 

Outside hitter Taylor Slauterbeck notched six kills, eight digs and two block assists to pace the Pioneer attack.  Outside hitter Anna Hays and middle hitter Elizabeth Maczuzak each added four kills while middle hitter Lauren Townley registered three kills and six blocks (one solo).  Setter Kimberly McCracken posted 15 assists while libero Katie Hasebein tallied a team-high nine digs.

The Pioneers will look to bounce back next Friday (Nov. 1) when they return to conference play with a 7:00 p.m. match at Lake Erie College.  Live statistics will be provided during the contest at http://livestats.prestosports.com/lakeerie/
