Ferris State Earns Hard-Fought Road Victory At Wayne State To Stay Perfect In The GLIAC

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad earned a hard-fought 75-60 GLIAC road win over Wayne State on Saturday (Jan. 29) afternoon inside the new WSU Fieldhouse in the Motor City.

The Warriors challenged the Bulldogs, but FSU pulled away down the stretch to move to 16-3 overall and remain perfect in the GLIAC with a 11-0 conference record.

Senior big man Logan Ryan fueled Ferris State with a team-high 18 points while senior guard Lee Higgins added 14 points. Senior Dorian Aluyi chipped in with 12 points, senior guard Walt Kelser notched 11 points and Ben Davidson added 10 points for FSU.

Ferris State built a 33-30 halftime lead and outscored the Warriors 42-30 in the second half while garnering its third road win of the week.

Overall, the Bulldogs shot 36% from the floor and made seven-of-17 (41.2%) three's in addition to sinking 26-of-31 (83.9%) free throws in the physical contest. WSU finished shooting 32.8% overall and made only three-of-13 (23.1%) long range tries with a 15-of-23 (65.2%) effort at the line.

Both teams netted 44 rebouns and FSU posted a 15-10 margin in second chance scoring for the game. The Warriors had 12 turnovers in comparison to FSU's 10 overall.

Wayne State was led by Darian Owens-White with a game-high 19 points, but he was the only WSU player to reach double-figures in the setbac as the Warriors fell to 3-12 on the year and 2-10 in the GLIAC.

The Bulldogs will be back at home on Thursday (Feb. 3), hosting Davenport inside Wink Arena starting at 7:30 p.m. (ET).
