Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad put together one of its most complete performances of the year on Sunday (April 11) as the Bulldogs beat visiting Purdue Northwest 5-0 at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

The Bulldogs capped a weekend sweep with the win while moving to 9-1 overall and a perfect 4-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) standings.

"It was an outstanding day of tennis for our women's squad," said FSU head coach Mark Doren. "We played one of our most all-around solid matches of the season. Purdue Northwest is a very good team, but we played well."

The match was ended once the victory was clinched with both teams slated to play several additional matches over the course of the coming week. Therefore, the final two singles flights went unfinished.

In doubles play, the Bulldogs picked up the initial point with decisive wins at the second and third spots in the lineup.

Ferris State then proceeded to capture the four singles matches that were played from one to four, including a three-set triumph by Morgan Waller at the top flight. The other three matches all went in favor of FSU in straight-sets.

The Bulldogs, who had shutout Davenport on Saturday afternoon, have now won all six of their home matches this season. Sunday's tilt was the final regular-season home contest for the Bulldogs at the Racquet and Fitness Center.

Overall, Ferris State has now won its last nine matches in a row.

The Bulldogs will visit longtime tennis rival Northwood on Tuesday (April 13) for a 1 p.m. (ET) league encounter in Midland before venturing to West Michigan rival Grand Valley State on Wednesday (April 14). Ferris State then continues a five-match road swing to end the regular-season by heading to Michigan's Upper Peninsula for two contests this weekend.
