Bulldog Women's Tennis Falls In Saturday Road Tilt At Wayne State

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad dropped a 6-1 decision to Wayne State on Saturday (April 16) as the Bulldogs wrapped up their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) weekend road trip.

The match took place at the Duchene Athletic Facility with WSU earning the triumph by virtue of claiming the doubles point and taking the top five singles positions.

The Warriors stayed perfect in the GLIAC at 7-0 this year, improving to 12-6 overall, while Ferris State fell to 9-7 on the year and 4-3 in conference action.

The Bulldogs got a win from senior Sam Stephenson at six singles by retirement after she claimed a 6-2 win in the opening set.

Ferris State will wrap up conference regular-season play back at home on Friday, April 22, against Saginaw Valley State with match time set for 1 p.m. (ET) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center. The Bulldogs will hold a special court dedication in honor of former coach Eddie Luck beginning prior to the match at 12:30 p.m. (ET).

Following the regular-season finale, the GLIAC Tournament will take place April 29-May 1 at the Midland Tennis Center.
