Dragon draws decimate Storm 17-7

Tiffin University (12-5) wasted little time taking charge in their GLIAC Quarterfinal game against Lake Erie, scoring early and often en route to a 17-7 victory.

The win sends TU to the GLIAC Final Four at Grand Valley State, where they will take on the top-seeded Lakers on Friday.

Against the Storm, TU used a huge 19-6 advantage on draw controls, including 9-3 in the first half, to sprint to the victory. TU scored 7 of the first 8 goals to take a commanding 7-1 lead with 13:36 left in the first half.

Five different Dragons scored in that opening stretch, with Elle Hamilton and Tori Nelson netting 2 goals each. Amanda Flotteron, Elle MacMillan, and Morgan Sherley also scored. 

Leading 8-3 at the break, the Dragons ripped off five more goals early in the second half to take a 14-4 lead and never looked back.

Overall TU held a 26-19 shot advantage, including 14-8 in the second half, while also getting 11 ground balls to Lake Erie's 8. 

Nelson had a strong game, scoring 4 goals with an assist while also grabbing 7 draws. Hamilton also won 6 draws while totaling 3 goals.

Sherley had 2 goals and 3 assists, Flotteron had 2 goals and an assist, MacMillan scored twice, and Gina Abulone had a goal and 2 assists. Maddy Batley had 2 goals while Jillian Jacobs also scored.

Kat Schneeberger got the win in goal, allowing 5 goals and making 4 saves in 53 minutes, while Amanda Archer played 7 minutes and allowed 2 goals.
