Pitching Dominates As Oilers Split With Dragons

The University of Findlay baseball team split a double header against Tiffin University on Wednesday, April 4th in Findlay, Ohio.

Drew Hargrove pitched phenomenal in the first game, allowing only three hits in the first six innings before giving up four runs to start the seventh.  However, Alex Williams came in with the bases loaded and preserved the 5-4 win, picking up his fourth save of the season.

Victor Migliore led the way for Findlay with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to give the Oilers a five-run lead in what would be the difference in the game.

Dustin Zielaskiewicz reached base three times and scored once while Tommy Roush, Reid Rothenbuhler and Garrett Busch each recorded a hit and an RBI.

One run was the difference in game two as the Oilers fell 1-0. 

Busch recorded two of Findlay's three hits in the game while Blake Schmenk's triple stands as the only extra base hit of the game.

Ethan James went the distance giving up only four hits and struck out five on his way to picking up the loss.

The split give the Oilers a 8-15 record overall with a 3-9 mark in conference play.  They will be back in action on Friday when the host Hillsdale for a twin bill at 1 p.m.
