HOW IT HAPPENED
The first set was tied at 3-3 after a kill from Taylor Wagner (St. Joseph, Mich. / Lakeshore).  An by Wagner and a point by Kamryn Duffield (Romeo, Mich.) pushed the Warriors in front 7-4.  The Bulldogs responded with a  5-0 run, taking a 9-7 lead.  The visitors controlled the rest of the set and led 19-13.  Alexa Withun (Troy, Mich. / Athens) pulled WSU within three, 21-18, with a spike.  However, FSU would go on to win 25-20.

Jenna Kray (Westerville, Ohio / Worthington Christian) gave the Green & Gold a 5-3 lead early in the second set.  A kill from Maddie Morrison (Flushing, Mich.) kept WSU on top, 8-7, before Ferris State responded and took a 13-9 advantage.  The Bulldogs won 25-19 and led the match 2-0.

FSU led the third set 5-1 and eventually 9-4.  Back-to-back kills from Halle Shell (Port Huron, Mich. / Port Huron Northern), plus a point by Withun and an a service ace Julia Malewicz (Macomb, Mich. / Utica Academy for International Studies / Henry Ford II) trimmed the deficit to 11-10.  An assisted block from Kray and Duffield put WSU on top 16-15.  Wayne State battled down the stretch but fell 25-18.
