Michigan Tech falls at #19 Biola

LA MIRADA, Calif. - Michigan Tech men's tennis continued its non-conference road trip through California Tuesday and fell to No. 19 Biola University 7-0. Playing outdoors at Biola Tennis Courts, the Eagles won their sixth straight while the Huskies fell to 0-4 on the season.

Biola grabbed the team doubles point and followed with straight set victories at singles No. 2, No. 6, and No. 3 to clinch. Eli Pinnoo came closest to a win for the Huskies at No. 4 singles. After taking the first set over Alex Sedeno 7-5, Pinnoo lost the second set 7-6. The two played a super-tiebreak in lieu of a full third set. Pinnoo fell behind early and came up short 10-8.

Adam Fenjiro dropped a pair of 6-2 sets to [10] Sebastian Herrera at No. 1 singles. Vitor Jordao lost 6-1, 6-0 to Alexei Prokopchuk at No. 2, and Nikolai Prosjankyov fell 6-3, 6-4 to Antonio Varona at No. 3 singles.

Siddhesh Mahadeshwar and Ambarish Rao fell in straight sets at No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively.

"We had to make some unexpected changes to the lineup today which I think added some extra pressure on us today," said head coach Kristin Yep. "Credit to our opponent though. They are nationally ranked for a reason."
