Cardinals fall to Ferris State in GLIAC battle

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University volleyball team fell in straight sets to the Ferris State University Bulldogs in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest in Hamilton Gymnasium. The Bulldogs took set one 25-23, and sets two and three by scores of 25-18, 25-21.

The Cardinals were led by Maria Vukaj and Madison Thompson who had nine kills each. Peyton Gerstacker led SVSU with 26 assists. Three Cardinals had a double-digit digs total, with Vukaj posting 17, Gerstacker with 12, and Kelsey Vittitow with 10. 

The Bulldogs were led by Keona Salesman with 14 kills.

SVSU remains home for a game against Grand Valley State University at 2 pm Saturday in Hamilton Gymnasium.
