A 13-0 run late in the second half broke open a close game and allowed the Ferris State University men's basketball team to notch a 82-67 win over Hillsdale College Wednesday night in Big Rapids.

This was the third of three consecutive road games for the Chargers, who now have back-to-back home games coming up, starting Saturday afternoon against Davenport.

Through the first half, this was a well-played game by both teams. There weren't many turnovers, both teams shot above 50 percent, and it was a good pace, back-and-forth basketball. The Chargers headed into halftime with a 33-31 lead, thanks in large part to 12 points from junior guard Connor Hill.

It was Hill's highest-scoring half of his collegiate career, and he finished with 14, tying his career-high. Junior forward Davis Larson also had 14, a bunch of them coming during a 7-0 run when Hillsdale sliced a second-half double-digit deficit to four points, 62-58.

But Ferris State, as it's shown in the past, had an explosive run left in it, scoring 13 unanswered points to break the game wide open. The Bulldogs were able to force turnovers and got quick, easy points off those turnovers, quickly extending the lead back out to double digits.

The Chargers shot a healthy 50 percent from the field, but most of those makes came inside the 3-point stripe. Hillsdale shot 4-for-16 on 3-pointers as a team, while the Bulldogs nailed 10 3-point baskets, a crucial difference in the game.

Larson pulled down a season-high 11 rebounds while Dylan Lowry had 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
