Tiffin University (1-5) picked up its first win of the season with a big 23-13 win over Ashland.

The 23 goals tied the 7th highest offensive outburst in school history, with Elle Hamilton and Danielle Roberts leading an assortment of scorers. Hamilton finished with 5 goals and 4 assists for a career-high 9 points, while Roberts also hit a personal best with 6 goals and 2 assists for 8 points.

Tied 2-2 early, the Dragons ripped off 10 straight goals over a 12-minute span to take a commanding lead. Seven different Dragons scored over that stretch, with Hamilton, Leah Davis, and Jenny Bates getting two goals each. The Dragons held a 13-5 halftime edge off a 21-12 shot advantage.

Ashland cut the deficit to six goals a number of times early in the second half, but the Dragons simply traded goals with the Eagles. They finished strong, scoring four of the final five goals in the game. Leah Davis added two more goals in that stretch.

Overall TU held a 38-30 shot edge along with a 22-15 ground ball lead. They forced 16 AU turnovers and were a perfect 14 for 14 on clears.

Along with her 9 points, Hamilton added 8 draw controls and 4 ground balls.

Davis was next with 4 goals, while Rylee Sutherland had 2 goals, an assist, and 4 draws. Daniela Carey also had 2 goals and an assist with 4 draws, Bates had 2 goals, and Tonesty Burt and Avery Dean also had goals. 

Jenay Rennie got the win in goal, making 13 saves over 60 minutes.
