Ferris State Performs Well Against Nationally Second-Ranked Lynn In Spring Trip Opener

Big Rapids, Mich, - The Ferris State University women's tennis team opened its annual spring break trip by facing one of the top teams in the country on Monday (March 9), falling to nationally second-ranked Lynn University by a 4-0 score in Winter Haven, Fla.

The Fighting Knights grabbed the early lead by taking the doubles point and held off FSU in singles action with wins at the first three completed singles flights.,

However, despite the setback, the Bulldogs battled hard against the Sunshine State power.

"It's tough playing our first match outdoors in five months and especially against the #2 team in the country," said FSU head coach Mark Doren. "However, we battled well. Our number two doubles team didn't finish, but was playing outstanding. Both Agata Klak and Morgan Waller played very well too.

"Our team is pumped to use this match to build upon the rest of our spring break trip," he added.

Lynn improved its record to a perfect 10-0 this year with the victory while the Bulldogs now hold a 10-7 overall mark to date this year.

Ferris State returns to the court on Tuesday (March 10) against Rollins in Florida starting at 4 p.m. (ET). The Bulldogs have four more matches lined up this week in the Sunshine State.
