Colomb, Dragons come up big in 4-3 win at Lake Superior State

Tiffin University (2-0) got a game-winning third-set tiebreaker victory from Cyrille Colomb to post a 4-3 win over Lake Superior State.

Colomb dropped the first set 7-6 after a 7-4 tiebreaker but then bounced back to take the second set 6-3. In the deciding third set, Colomb gave TU the victory with a thrilling 7-5 score in the tiebreaker to take the set 7-6.

TU opened with a clean sweep of the doubles matches, as Michael Gurtner-Matthew Telford won 6-2, Matthew Weaver-Ruben Fonga won 6-1, and Colomb-Mattia Colli won 7-6 (8-6).

The Dragons dropped its top three doubles matches, with Fonga falling 6-2, 5-7, 7-5, Gurtner suffering a 6-3, 6-3 setback, and Telford falling 6-2, 6-3.

TU tied the match 3-3 by winning two singles matches before Colomb finished. Weaver won 6-4, 6-4, and Matt Saunders won 6-2, 6-1.
