GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Brittany Steimel started the NU scoring bottom of the second. She hit a solo home run to the left-center to put Northwood up 1-0. That was Steimel's team-leading sixth home run of the season.
  • The Timberwolves extended their advantage to 3-0 in the third thanks to a Haley Frank 2-run bomb to left field. This was Haley's fourth home run this season.
  • SVSU plated two runs in the top of the sixth to put it at 3-2.
  • Neither team scored in the final inning as the Timberwolves picked up the 3-2 victory.

NORTHWOOD NOTES

  • With her first strikeout in game one, Shayna Frank joined the exclusive 500 strikeout club. She is just the third player in Northwood history to do so.

  • SVSU took the 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the top of the third.
  • The Cardinals plated another run in the fourth to go up 2-0.
  • The Timberwolves were unable to plate a run in the contest as they fell to the Cardinals, 2-0.
