MELBOURNE, Fla. - Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse (4-4) started hot, but ultimately came up short in a 22-9 loss to Stonehill (2-1) on Wednesday at Panther Stadium.
Concordia scored the first two and last two goals of the game, but Stonehill used a 6-0 run in the first quarter to take its first lead and outscored CSP 15-4 in the second and third quarters to pull away.
The Golden Bears continue a challenging Florida trip with their final game of the spring trip at #8 Rollins (4-0) on Thursday at 3 p.m. (central) at Barker Family Stadium in Winter Park, Florida.
Delaney Davidson and
Molly Moynihan each had 4-point games with Davidson netting three goals with an assist while Moynihan had a four assist performance. Davidson leads the team with 22 goals and has two or more goals in every game this year while Moynihan has a team-high 16 assists, reaching four or more in a game for the third time this season.
Davidson was also strong on the draw with a team-high four draw controls while
Mary Keating and
Sarah Pierson each had three. Concordia had 14 draw controls on the day, surrendering 20 to the opposition.
Candace McDole produced 13 saves on the day, including eight saves in a busy first quarter while her counterpart, Sarah Fraley, had three saves.
Stonehill was paced by five goal performances by Emma Sullivan and Kendall Fressle while Kayla Conway added four.
