INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - #22 Concordia-St. Paul (0-1) opened the 2021 season at #6-ranked Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon, falling 20-1 at Key Stadium.

Concordia will have a chance to secure its first victory of the season in less than 24 hours, heading to Romeoville, Illinois for a Sunday noon tilt at Lewis University against back-to-back GLVC opponents as the team opens the year with three in a row against the GLVC before conference play begins in the GLIAC.

Maki Jenner scored Concordia's first goal of the season with 2:16 remaining in the first half to cut the UIndy lead to 10-1 before the Greyhounds added two more goals before the half for a 12-1 lead. Jenner's goal was with a man-down for the Golden Bears.

In the second half, the Greyhounds added eight more goals to their ledger.

In the final tally, CSP was outshot 36-7 while UIndy controlled possession with a 19-3 edge in draw controls and 17-10 on ground balls. The Greyhounds also were 11-12 on clear attempts while CSP matched UIndy's 11 clears, but on 18 attempts.

The Golden Bear defense registered eight caused turnovers as UIndy turned it over 13 times in the game.
Overall, CSP fired seven total shots with two on goal while senior goalie
Katie Lottsfeldt was able to secure eight saves during a busy afternoon in the CSP defensive zone. Lottsfeldt also had four ground balls and two caused turnovers, while
Valerie Bragg also contributed a pair of caused turnovers.
The Greyhounds were led by Grace Gunneson and Sarah Klein's six goals apiece, with Klein also adding a pair of assists while Peyton Romig was strong at midfield with 12 draw controls. Cassidy King was credited with the win in the crease, making one save and allowing one goal in 48:25 of play.
