Panthers Run Past Oilers 63-31

The University of Findlay football team was defeated by a score of 63-31 by Ohio Dominican University on Saturday, Oct. 13 in Donnell Stadium.  The Homecoming loss gives the Oilers a 4-2 record on the season with a 4-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers trailed 28-24 at the break and fell behind 42-31 in the fourth quarter before surrendering 21 unanswered points in the fourth and final period.

The Panthers rolled up 550 yards of total offense, averaging 7.9 yards per play.  They also accumulated 320 rushing yards in the game.

Senior running back Monterae Williams paced the Oilers offense with 29 carries for 162 yards and a score, leaving him seven yards shy of breaking the school record for career rushing yardage.

Senior quarterback Clay Belton completed 20-of-34 passing attempts for 275 yards and two scores.  He was also picked off once in the loss.

Junior tight end Jaryd Brown had six catches for 64 yards and a touchdown.  He also rushed the ball one time for four yards and a score.

Junior wide receiver Seth White added 61 receiving yards while sophomore receiver Lloyd Henry made three catches for 85 yards and a touchdown.

Senior linebacker Brandon Butler led the defense with 17 tackles and a sack. 

The Oilers will hit the road next week to take on Lake Erie College.  The GLIAC contest is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in Painesville, Ohio.
