ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse looks to make it two in a row against Northern Michigan (3-7, 2-4 GLIAC) this Wednesday as the Golden Bears tangle with the Wildcats at 6 p.m. at the Superior Dome in Marquette, Michigan.

Concordia topped NMU 21-9 on Friday evening in the Concordia Dome at Sea Foam Stadium, the fifth win in as many games in the all-time series between the two third year programs. Concordia is now 7-4 overall and 4-2 in the GLIAC with wins in four of its last five contests. The Golden Bears are 7-4 for the first time in program history and are now one win shy of the tying the program record for single season wins with the 8-8 inaugural season in 2017. CSP has already tied last year's GLIAC wins total in just six games.

Concordia is currently tied for third place in the GLIAC standings with McKendree (6-3) as each team has a .667 league winning percentage. The GLIAC Tournament features the third and fourth place teams earning first round tournament home games on April 30. CSP is ahead of fifth place Davenport (3-4) by 1.5 games and two games ahead of Northern Michigan (2-4) and Ashland (2-4). Indianapolis (8-0) and Grand Valley State (6-1) currently hold the top two spots in the league standings.

SERIES HISTORY: CSP 5, NMU 0
Expect the Wildcats to put up a fight, if the previous two years results are any indicator. CSP racked up double-digit wins in each of 2017 and 2018, but the other contests those seasons were closer, a 14-8 CSP win in 2017 in Marquette and an 18-15 win in 2018 in St. Paul. Concordia now has a +47 goal margin in five contests with NMU.

In Friday's win, Maddie Hentges scored six goals and Alina Boyce added five for the Golden Bears, who used an 11-1 run to open up an 18-7 lead spanning the end of the first half and the first 11-plus minutes of the second. The 11-1 surge was part of an extended 18-3 stretch of play that broke the game open following NMU's 4-0 spurt to tie the game at five midway through the first half. The 18-3 stretch of play spanned nearly 41 minutes of the contest.

Junior goalie Katie Lottsfeldt had a big performance in the net, saving nine shots and producing seven ground balls while her disruptive play led to a pair of caused turnovers and helped keep the NMU attack off balance.

In five games, Hentges has racked up 32 points including 26 goals while Boyce has 18 goals and accumulated 21 goals. Lottsfeldt has made 31 saves against NMU while allowing 30 goals for a 7.50 goals against average and a .508 save percentage against the Wildcats, adding 18 ground balls.
