Baseball Drops Two Games in Doubleheader to Northwood

The Tiffin University baseball team dropped two games to non-conference opponent Northwood 4-2 and 14-4.

Game One:

After three scoreless innings the Dragons broke the deadlock as Tim Orr hit a triple to right field to score Griffin Stevens, then Nich Green grounded out to the shortstop allowing Orr to score to give Tiffin a 2-0 lead.

Tiffin was able to shutout the Timberwolves for six innings but in the top of the seventh they scored four runs that would give them the lead, and would go on to win 4-2.

Tim Orr led the squad in game one going 1-for-3 at the plate, scored one run with one RBI, and teammate Tommy Thamann went 2-for-3.

Game Two:

The Timberwolves started fast in game two, scoring three runs in the top of the first. The Dragons responded in the bottom of the first with a run of their own when Tim Orr singled to center field to bring in Zach Campbell.

Northwood kept up the pressure as they scored two runs in the second and third inning to lead 7-1 going into the fourth inning.

The Timberwolves scored six in the top of the fourth to take a commanding 13-1 lead. Tiffin was able to score one in the fourth off a single to center field to score Cal Brazier and scored another run in the fifth when Stevens singled to left field to score Campbell, cutting the lead to 13-3.

Each team scored one in the sixth to bring the score to 14-4. With a scoreless seventh inning the Timberwolves took game two 14-4.

Zach Campbell led the Dragons going 2-for-4 and scoring two runs, while Isaiah Mirabal went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
