Ferris State Women's Basketball Erupts For Fourth-Straight Win

Big Rapids, MIch. - The Ferris State University women's basketball squad erupted for a 72-32 triumph over McKendree (Ill.) in regional action on Saturday (Nov. 20), wrapping up the Quincy Classic with a perfect mark in Quincy, Ill.

The Bulldogs won their fourth consecutive game despite trailing 16-12 at the end of the first period. FSU turned it on in the second, outscoring McKendree 19-4 in the period, en route to the halftime lead.

In the second half, it was all Bulldogs as FSU posted a 25-10 margin in third quarter production followed by a 16-2 advantage in the final quarter.

FSU forced 21 turnovers and limited McKendree to only 25.6% shooting in the contest.

Senior guard Adrienne Anderson and freshman Kadyn Blanchard paced a balanced Bulldog attack with 11 points each. Freshman Mya Hiram added 10 points off the bench. 

All 10 Ferris State players who saw action scored in the win and FSU shot 48.4% overall from the floor in addition to making six-of-eight (75%) free throws.

The Bulldogs also had a decisive 43-23 rebounding advantage for the afternoon and pulled down 13 offensive boards. Ellie Dykstra had a team-high 10 boards for the Bulldogs.

Ferris State will host Ursuline in its home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 23, at FSU's Jim Wink Arena. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. (ET).
