ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia-St. Paul (4-2, 1-1 GLIAC) used a strong early second half run but couldn't overcome an 8-goal halftime deficit in a 15-9 loss to Tiffin (4-3, 1-1 GLIAC) on Friday night at the Concordia Dome at Sea Foam Stadium.
The loss snaps a program record four game winning streak and hands the team its first-ever conference loss, evening the GLIAC record at 1-1.
Concordia closes out a three game homestand on Sunday with a noon contest against #18 Grand Valley State in the Concordia Dome. GVSU topped Northern Michigan 22-3 tonight on the road to improve to 2-0 in the GLIAC.

Raelyn Korinek led the Golden Bears with four goals apiece while sophomores
Maddie Hentges and
Riley Burns each had a pair of assists. Heinl had a big all-around game, leading the club in shots (6), caused turnovers (4), draw controls (2) and added three ground balls, second most on the team.

Claire Hagen sparked the team in the net in the second half with seven saves and five goals against and had a team-high four ground balls.
The Dragons were led by Amanda Flotteron's eight point performance with six goals and two assists while Elle Hamilton had seven points (5g, 2a) and five draw controls. Tiffin goalie Kat Schneeberger had 11 saves and six ground balls.
The Dragons held a commanding 10-2 lead at the break, but the halftime stats didn't indicate a typical eight goal margin. While Tiffin held a solid 19-11 shot margin and had strong time of possession, ground balls were 10-9, draw controls 7-6, fouls 10-8 all in favor of Tiffin while CSP actually had fewer turnovers with nine compared to Tiffin's 11.
In the second half, the Bears were able to break through and wasted no time in doing so as Korinek and Heinl scored three goals within a 47 second spurt in the third minute of the half to give Concordia life, down 10-5 with plenty of time to play.
Not long after in the sixth minute, Korinek found the net again and in the ninth minute, fellow freshman
Margot Coomes scored to cut the margin to three goals for the first time since it was 3-0 eight minutes into play.
Hamilton pushed the margin back to four in the 12th minute with Heinl answering midway through the half at the 15:30 mark.
Tiffin was effective as second half continued at utilizing its 90 second possession clock, though, and were able to find the net for four straight goals to pull ahead by seven in the closing minutes before Korinek scored in the final minute of play.
in the second half, CSP only faced a deficit of two shots (17-15) as Tiffin finished with a 36-26 shot edge but Concordia finished with more ground balls (20-19) and fewer turnovers (14-17).
