Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's basketball came up short on Sunday, Nov. 21 against Grand Valley State University, falling 77-61. The loss brings their record to 1-3 on the season.
The Oilers were haunted by turnovers, recording 27 for the game. Overall the Oilers shot the ball well after hitting 52.6 percent (20-of-38) of their shot attempts and held the Lakers to a 39.4 percent (26-of-66) shooting clip in the game.
Senior forward Sydney Kin led Findlay with 18 points and seven rebounds while seniir forward Bridget Landin had 10 points and a team-high ten rebounds.
Junior guard Lauren Hapgood had 6 points and two rebounds while freshman guard Janae Hoying had 9 points off the bench. Sophomore guard Kate Ellis contributed 7 points.
The Lakers were led by Qay Stanton and Hannah Kulas who both recorded 16 points.
The Oilers will be back in action again on Dec. 2 when they travel to Trevecca Nazarene University at 1:00 pm.
