GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Rangers plated three runs in the top of the second inning to take the early lead.
  • The NU offense plated four runs in the bottom of the third to erase their deficit. Delanie Grundman started it off, bringing in one run with an RBI groundout.
  • Emily Mankel hit a 2-run shot to center field to tie the score, and Gianna Fantin added an RBI single to score Madison Jordan and take the 4-3 lead.
  • The bottom of the fourth was huge for the Timberwolves. Haley Frank reached home on a wild pitch to get the scoring started.
  • Another 2-run homer, this time by Brittany Steimel, extended the Timberwolf lead.
  • Fantin drove home two more runs with an RBI single. This was the NU's fifth run of the inning, giving them the 9-3 advantage.
  • Wisconsin Parkside added one run in the top of the seventh, but the Timberwolves held on for the 9-4 win.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

  • NU struck first in the second game. The Timberwolves took a 2-0 advantage in the first thanks to a Delanie Grundman RBI single and an Emily Mankel sacrifice fly.
  • Northwood extended their lead in the bottom of the second. Karlie Moore scored on a wild pitch to push the lead to 3-0.
  • Parkside responded in the top of the third via two singles up the middle, 3-1.
  • Late in the fifth with the bases loaded and two outs, Brittany Steimel hit a 2-RBI single to deep centerfield to score Haley Frank and Delanie Grundman to extend the NU lead to 5-1.
  • The Timberwolves held onto their lead to earn the 5-1 win and earn the doubleheader sweep.
