Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad closed out the regular-season in impressive fashion with a second consecutive 3-0 home sweep over Saginaw Valley State on Saturday (April 3) at FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

The Bulldogs, who finished the regular season by winning their final five matches, earned a 25-20, 25-11 and 25-18 triumph over the Cardinals, beating SVSU in three-straight sets for the second day in a row.

With the win, the Bulldogs now look towards the GLIAC Tournament, which will take place at Saginaw Valley State on April 9-11. Official matchups and more information will be announced soon by the conference office.

In Saturday's win, the Bulldogs started fast and took control early. FSU hit .267 overall for the afternoon with 39 kills and 11 errors on 105 total attacks. The Bulldogs also held Saginaw Valley State to a .092 attack figure.

Ferris State was paced by senior All-America hitter Katie O'Connell with 11 kills in a balanced effort. Freshman Keona Salesman added nine kills for the Bulldogs.

FSU also received a match-high 22 digs from libero Nina Gorgijevska to go with 32 assists by freshman Kaylee Maat. She added 12 digs and O'Connell had 10 in the winning effort.

SVSU was led by Maria Vukaj, who netted eight kills and 14 digs to lead the Cardinals in both categories.

Ferris State wrapped up regular-season play in the GLIAC with a 10-4 overall record while the Cardinals finished at 4-10 overall.

The Bulldogs honored senior middle hitter Jackie Beaver, who graduated this past fall, during Senior Day activities prior to Saturday's contest.
