Oilers Win Late | Defeat Wildcats 21-20

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team earned their first victory of the season on March 22 after defeating Northern Michigan University 22-21 at the Armstrong Sports Complex. The win gives the Oilers a 1-4 record on the season.

The Oilers held an 11-10 lead at the break and went up 15-10 before the Wildcats stormed back, eventually taking a 20-19 lead with only 40 seconds remaining in the game. Junior Mackenzie Cole then tied the game off of an assist from senior Allie Kasprzyk 20 seconds later and after winning the draw, junior Adriana Santucci found the back of the net off of another assist from Kasprzyk with only a few seconds remaining to give Findlay a 21-20 win.

Santucci finished with five goals and three assists while Cole had five goals as well. Kasprzyk added one goal and four assists while senior Ciara Burud had three goals and three assists. Burud also added ten draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers.

Junior Kendra Lindell also posted three goals while junior Ashleigh Lesser had two.

Sophomore Amber Patterson and senior Jordan Reineke caused three turnovers while junior Rachel Bornstein picked up the win and made eight saves.
