Every Warrior Scores in 91-52 Win at Tiffin

Wayne State will look to extend winning streak to nine games on Saturday against ODU.

TIFFIN, Ohio -- The sixth ranked Wayne State University women's basketball team (12-1, 8-1 GLIAC) won its eighth consecutive game on Thursday night at Tiffin (4-10, 3-5 GLIAC), 91-52. All 12 Warriors scored at least three points.

The Dragons led 4-3 three minutes into the game, which was quickly erased with a 10-0 run to put the Warriors up 13-4 at the 13:52 mark. The visitors lead was extended to 22-6 with just under 10 minutes left before halftime. Four WSU turnovers in less than six minutes allowed Tiffin to cut deficit to 27-21 at the 4:55 mark.

Christina Green (Southfield, Mich. / Lathrup) scored eight points in final 3:30 of the first half to help WSU go into the locker room leading 42-31. WSU's bench contributed 23 points compared to TU's four bench points. Green led WSU with nine first-half points while the Warriors shot 57.7 percent (15-of-26).

The Green & Gold defense forced seven turnovers to begin the second half as Tiffin was just one of seven from the field. WSU turned defense into offense and led 51-31 at the 17 minute mark. Back-to-back layups from Shareta Brown (Pontiac, Mich. / Grand Blanc) put WSU on top 66-31 with 13:25 left to play.

Shannon Wilson (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Bloomfield Hills) matched a game-high with 13 points, which is also a career-high. She connected on a triple to give WSU a 73-35 lead as she scored nine straight points. The Warriors collected the win easily and were able to give valuable minutes to the entire roster.

Joining Wilson in double figures was Brown with 12 points and Jackie Jones (Detroit, Mich. / Martin Luther King) with 10. Brown posted her 12th double-double of the season and 59th career double-double with 10 rebounds.

Wayne State shot 57.9 percent (33-of-57) from the floor and finished with 48 bench points.

WSU will return to the Matthaei on Saturday for a 1 PM clash against Ohio Dominican.
