Ferris State Volleyball Bounces Back For Road Sweep At SVSU

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University volleyball squad bounced back in a big way for a 3-0 road sweep over Saginaw Valley State on Saturday (Sept. 24) in University Center, Mich.

The Bulldogs registered a 25-14, 25-13, 26-24 triumph inside Hamilton Gymnasium, improving to 8-7 overall and 6-1 in GLIAC play.

FSU hit .357 overall in the win with Syann Fairfield leading the Bulldogs with 12 kills overall. Emma Bleecher chipped in with nine kills and Olivia Henneman-Dallape totaled eight kills.

Ferris State's Claire Nowicki finished the match with 10 digs and seven kills while libero Leah Bylut totaled 13 digs and Alina Anderson added 10 digs.

In the win, the Bulldogs totaled 45 kills and only 10 attack errors on 98 tries while posting 51 digs, five service aces and four block assists.

Madison Thompson led Saginaw Valley State with eight kills as the Cardinals compiled only a .139 attack figure. SVSU finished with 33 kills, 40 digs, four block assists and two aces.

Ferris State returns home to host Northern Michigan on Friday (Sept. 30) for a 7 p.m. (ET) league encounter inside Wink Arena. The Bulldogs then host Michigan Tech on Saturday (Oct. 1) at 3 p.m. (ET).
