The Tiffin University women's basketball team trailed by three points after a quarter of play, but the offense went south in the 2nd quarter, allowing the Lake Superior State Lakers to take hold and post a 72-59 victory.

The Dragons hit their first three shots of the opening quarter, leading 8-2 only two minutes into the contest. Tiffin padded their lead with a Deidre McKay layup to lead 12-4. Tiffin hit a cold spell after bumping their lead to eight points, as the Lakers stormed back and used a 14-3 run to take a 18-15 lead after the 1st quarter.

Lake Superior State kept the offense rolling in the 2nd quarter, hitting a three point shot at the 04:36 mark to hold their largest lead of the game 28-22. The Dragons were unable to keep pace offensively, scoring only 11 points in the quarter, and faced a 37-26 deficit at the half.

At the break, Allie Miller led the Dragons in scoring with 10 points on 4 of 7 shooting. The Dragons were pummeled on the boards in the half, collecting only 11 total rebounds and one offensive board.

The 3rd quarter was by far the best for Tiffin, bolting out of the gate on a 21-9 run to trail the Lakers by a point at 47-46. Lake Superior State used a three point bucket to extend their lead to four, and finished the 3rd quarter with a 50-48 advantage.

In the 4th quarter, the Dragons ran out of gas and the Lakers sailed ahead, outscoring Tiffin 22-11 en route to a 72-59 victory.

Overall, Tiffin hit 38.5% of their field goals and were 7 of 22 from beyond the arc. Allie Miller led Tiffin in scoring, pouring in 19 points. Deidre McKay, Bre Nauman, and Ali Schirmer each added 10 points.

Tiffin falls to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in GLIAC play.
