Tiffin University (3-5, 1-3 GLIAC) could not cool down a red-hot shooting Saginaw Valley State squad, as the 24th ranked Cardinals took out the Dragons 100-72.
The Cardinals were hot from the outset, blistering the nets at a 80 percent clip in the first quarter. They raced out to a 32-16 edge after one quarter and expanded it to a 56-36 lead at halftime.
TU could not cut into the Cardinals' lead, shooting just 31 percent in the game. SVSU finished with a 62 percent field goal percentage while also sinking 32 of 40 foul shots. They dominated inside, outrebounding TU 46-24 and holding a 42-18 scoring margin in the paint.
TU was led by Deidre McKay with 19 points, including 9 of 11 at the line, while Kiley May had 13 and Kristen Massey 10 off the bench. Ali Schirmer also added 7 points.
