Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team capped off a big weekend as the Bulldogs ran their winning streak to seven consecutive matches with a dominating 7-0 win over Ashland on Saturday (March 20) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

The Bulldogs, who topped nationally 23rd-ranked Wayne State in Friday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opener, came back in morning action and rolled over the Eagles to move to 7-1 on the year and 2-0 in conference play.

Ferris State started strong, winning all three doubles flights by convincing margins to grab the initial point in the match. The number one team of Agata Klak and Isabela Paixao were 6-1 winners and FSU captured both the second and third spots by identical 6-2 scores.

The Bulldogs also controlled the action in singles play, taking all six flights in straight-sets. The closest margin came at four singles where Brittany Lavenant was a 6-3, 6-4 winner.

Overall, a total of seven different players saw action in the win as FSU improved to 4-0 in home contests this year.

The Bulldogs will hit the road next weekend for a pair of conference road matches. FSU visits Northwood on Friday (March 26) for a 1 p.m. (ET) league encounter before facing Saginaw Valley State on Saturday (March 27) starting at 12 p.m. (ET).
