Three Warriors score in double figures.

Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Wayne State University men's basketball team (0-2 overall) dropped a 73-59 decision to Kentucky Wesleyan College (2-0) Saturday evening on day two of the 2014 GMAC/GLIAC Challenge hosted by Tiffin University.

A sluggish start to the game had a combined 21 points scored in the first 10 minutes which also included numerous stoppages of play due to the clock operator not starting the clock (12 times in the entire contest to be accurate).

The Panthers led throughout the entire game scoring the first three points on a triple by Ken-Jah Bosley.  WSU scored on a jumper by Clark Bishop (Detroit, Mich. / Renaissance) and a lay-up from George Spencer to trail by one (5-4) seven minutes into the game.

The Warriors knotted the game at 15 on a triple by Gavin Toma (Troy, Mich. / Southfield Christian) at the 7:37 mark, then Toma drained another three-pointer 70 seconds later giving WSU its first lead at 18-17.  A lay-up by freshman John Draper (Dayton, Ohio / Eastmoor Academy) at the 2:20 mark regained the advantage for Wayne State at 27-26.  KWC ended the first half on a 10-3 run to open a seven-point margin (36-29) at intermission.

Kentucky Wesleyan scored the first points of the second half on a bucket by Devin Langford for its largest lead of the game to that point at nine (38-29).  The Warriors pulled within four on a couple of occasions, but with the score 40-36 following a jumper by Toma, the Panthers tallied nine straight points for a 13-point advantage (49-36).

WSU never got closer than nine points the rest of the game.

Michael Lewis (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Huron) led the Warriors with 11 points, while Toma and Tristan Wilson (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Skyline) each had 10 points.  Marcus Moore (Lansing, Mich. / Waverly) totaled a team-best seven rebounds.

Three Panthers each scored 12 points in the contest - Tre Boutilier, Hikeem Stewart and Patrick Neel.  Boutilier had a double-double with 10 rebounds.

Wayne State will conclude the non-conference portion of its schedule with a home contest on Nov. 29 at 3 pm vs. Lewis University at the Matthaei.
